Deptford High Street | Additional Flat Units and Restaurant
Client: Private
Status: Construction
In this project we were involved in complete remodelling of the terraced Victorian house, which was accommodating a shop on the ground floor and a flat on the upper floors. We were asked to create a two levelled restaurant space with a bar space, disabled toilet, a kitchen and a loading bay to the back on the ground and more seating area, toilets and storage spaces on the basement floor. The appointment included to completely renovate the flat above and to add a two-storey extension to the back of the building, a space which would be used to create an additional two-levelled three-bedroom flat with a roof terrace.
Two glass lightwells on the ground floor were created to give increase the liveliness in the basement seating area and making it more attractive to the restaurant guests. The flats above share the separate entrance from the restaurant, increasing the privacy of the residents. Throughout the project, the maximum usability of all the spaces were exercised as it was the main request from the client.
